Feels like Forever

Jeff Jankowski This is my third A&B purchase and my favorite of the three. I like them all but this one is a bit more groove oriented and "lighter" in feel than the others. Not as ominous or foreboding and fits my mood as we leave winter behind. Fantastic music and I hope to see the band live at some point. Favorite track: Becoming the Sun.

Nick Bradey All the Anchor and Burden discs are of the
highest quality- Markus and Co . maintain
their high standards. Hopefully Markus will
release more Anchor and Burden sets in the
near future. Favorite track: Shards of Life.

Carsten Pieper Due to Markus & Co's highly prolific output I fell behind with Anchor and Burden's releases. Nevertheless, all their releases are very much worth our attention, but they need that attention, too. This is stuff for dedicated listening, although there are plenty of "hooks" as well. The combination of instruments/skills of this quartet works very well for me! Favorite track: Becoming the Sun.

Frank Hadlich My favourite A&B album of the first 5. Favorite track: Like Forever.

Glenraven This is a great album for our times. Always love Markus tonal sounds blending in with the rolling bass and drums. Awesome work brothers. Favorite track: Becoming the Sun.
Nardi Marcello

Nardi Marcello The initial meeting between that incredible bass line starting and startling on Becoming the Sun, the prolonged soundscapes and the frantic, ecstatic soloing on the top can remind of the interknotting of Discipline together with krautrok. But that reminded me eventually of Miles Davis's Panthalassa in a certain way.

Ecstatic.

about

Anchor and Burden Berlin, Germany

Anchor and Burden is an uncompromising progressive avantgarde doom-jazz post-metal band based in Berlin, Germany, which has their own style of collective instant composition that defies the norms of creation. They create monolithic doom behemoths only to tear them into shreds with boundless energy in the next moment. ... more
